Well, here I am. Writing another blog in a new day. I love it.
I a reading Joss Whedon's new book. His Biography. Makes me think big time. I have the thoughts all in my and I want to unleash them to the unsuspecting world.
I was standing in the kitchen because I was hungry. I pulled out meatloaf, the rest of the mash potatoes and some cheese. Grater in the clean dishwasher. A thought occurs. What is the linear string for me? Do I start to unload the dishwasher, but I am hungry! Do I make food? Yet the dishes are clean. Or do I sit down and blog this thought before it runs out the door?
Hunger won over.
What is the linear string of life? The options we see before us. The choices we take, we make, we leave behind. How do we want to run our lives? How do we want to structure ourselves and function? What actions do we want to take?
I read in the book. the Joss book. We define our identity. We live up to the identity we choose for ourselves. Do we all really live up to? Anyways, the point that I took away is that we choose our identity. Of course it is a word I keep misspelling. yay!
We are not victims of our circumstances. We define ourselves by our circumstances. We make a footprint if we so choose. Why is it that one person cowers in the corner crying that life is so difficult for them, yet they were born into decent means. Had a crappy yet survivable childhood. But others are their own big success and had nothing to start with. People come from all backgrounds, all circumstances, all sorts of experiences.
It is our inner motivation. Our perseverance. Our reaction to these circumstances that make us what we want to be today. If you don't like the program, you change the channel. If you don't like the food, you do not eat it. Why is any other aspect of our life any different? We placate ourselves to ourselves and make excuses for the non-actions. But deep down, we obviously want something from the circumstances we are in, or else we would change them.
